OKLAHOMA CITY— With just four weeks remaining before Oklahoma’s primary election, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Jim Priest has earned the endorsements of former Oklahoma Governors Brad Henry and David Walters, along with former Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

The endorsements come as Priest continues campaigning across Oklahoma with a message to “Bring America Together Again.” His message focuses on practical leadership, lowering costs for working families, and restoring trust in government through what he calls a “New Fair Deal.”

“I know Jim to be a man of integrity who listens first and doesn't point fingers,” Governor Brad Henry said. “He's our best choice for the U.S. Senate, and I know he'll bring common sense to Washington for the working families of Oklahoma."

Priest said he is deeply honored to receive the support of three respected Oklahoma leaders who have dedicated their careers to public service.

“I am humbled and incredibly grateful to have the support of Gov. Brad Henry, Gov. David Walters and Attorney General Drew Edmondson,” Priest said. “These are leaders who devoted their lives to serving Oklahoma. Their support means a great deal to me because this campaign is about bringing people together, focusing on real problems facing working families and restoring faith that government can still do good.”

A seasoned attorney, ordained minister and nonprofit leader, Priest has spent more than 40 years serving communities across Oklahoma. His campaign platform focuses on lowering household costs, expanding affordable child care, protecting seniors on fixed incomes, strengthening rural communities and improving access to health care, education and mental health services.

“Oklahomans are feeling the squeeze when it comes to affording groceries, prescriptions, gasoline and housing,” Governor David Walters said. “Jim Priest understands the daily challenges facing working people because he has spent his career advocating for others through ministry, nonprofit leadership and the law. He has the experience, compassion and practical mindset we need representing Oklahoma in the United States Senate.”

Priest’s “New Fair Deal” agenda also includes fully funding public schools, expanding broadband access in rural Oklahoma, protecting natural resources, strengthening public safety and restoring accountability and transparency in government.

“This campaign is about making life a little easier and a little fairer for everyday people,” Priest said. “Too many families feel like they’re working harder than ever just to stay afloat. We need leadership focused less on political theater and more on solving problems. That means working to keep rural hospitals open, lowering the cost of living, supporting teachers and students, reducing housing costs and creating opportunities for the next generation. Oklahoma deserves leadership that listens, understands and acts in good faith.”

Edmondson said Priest’s lifelong commitment to service and fairness makes him uniquely qualified to represent Oklahoma in Washington.

“I am proud to have called Jim Priest a friend for many years,” Attorney General Drew Edmondson said. “As someone who has spent a career taking on powerful interests on behalf of everyday Oklahomans, I know a fighter when I see one. But just as importantly, Jim is compassionate, thoughtful and deeply committed to doing what is right. He will work tirelessly to put Oklahoma families first, and I believe he will serve our state with integrity and honor.”

Priest said his campaign will continue focusing on direct voter engagement and building a broad coalition of Oklahomans ready to move beyond division and political dysfunction.

“Problems don’t get solved by shouting or finger-pointing,” Priest said. “They get solved by listening well and working together in good faith. That’s the kind of leadership I believe Oklahomans want, and that’s exactly what I’ll bring to the U.S. Senate.”
